Another Fire Breaks Out at Mahakumbh Mela 2025

A series of fire incidents have plagued the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, with the latest blaze damaging an empty camp in Sector 8. Despite material losses, including goods stored by Lavkush Seva Mandal, no casualties have been reported. Firefighters responded swiftly, containing the fire effectively.

As the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 nears its conclusion in Prayagraj, a new fire incident has emerged at an unoccupied camp in Sector 8. This event occurred on Monday, shortly after a Saturday fire at Sector 19 affected a Lavkush Seva Mandal-run camp.

Damages included tents, blankets, and grains, yet no casualties were reported, according to DIG Mahakumbh, Vaibhav Krishna. He stated, "In Sector 19, Lavkush Seva Mandal's camp stored various materials that caught fire; however, no injuries or fatalities occurred."

The fire services were notified around 6:15 pm, with response teams arriving within minutes to handle the situation. Concurrently, another fire broke out on Thursday in a vacant hut near Harishchandra Marg at the Mahakumbh site in Prayagraj.

The local fire brigade swiftly extinguished the blaze with no reported injuries. This follows last week's fire in Prayagraj, where an unauthorized campsite’s 15 tents were lost to fire but were quickly managed without casualties.
