Telangana Aims to Lead in Cyber Safety with SHIELD 2025

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reiterated his administration's dedication to positioning the state as a national leader in cybersecurity during the Cyber Security Conclave 2025 held in Hyderabad. Reddy outlined plans under the SHIELD 2025 program, stressing the necessity of digital safety in the rapidly evolving cyberspace.

Asserting the government's commitment, CM Reddy praised the efforts of the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, Cyberabad Police, and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council. He cited troubling statistics indicating cybercriminals stole Rs 2,812 crore last year, labeling cybercrime as a severe threat to both the nation’s economy and its citizens.

Reddy addressed the growing dangers posed by fake news and misinformation, particularly on social media. He detailed state initiatives to bolster cybersecurity, including new police stations and a functional helpline, urging citizens to utilize the 1930 helpline for support. Emphasizing proactive strategies, he called for efforts to prevent crime before it happens.
