On Friday, shares of Religare Enterprises soared by 18.9% following the acquisition of a controlling stake by the Burman family, who have now been designated as promoters after concluding an open offer.

This development increased the Burman family's shareholding to 25.16%, solidifying their position as the company's largest shareholder and promoter. Religare Enterprises' shares closed at Rs 265.30, marking an 18.97% rise on the BSE.

A spokesperson for the Burman Group expressed satisfaction over acquiring control of Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL) and emphasized a commitment to enhancing stability, governance, and sustainable growth. The family, known for its ventures in Dabur India and Eveready Industries, had previously announced a Rs 2,116-crore open offer to REL shareholders for up to a 26% stake. They recently increased their stake to 3.6% in a financial deal worth Rs 277 crore while maintaining a focus on business fundamentals and high growth potential.
