Goa Police Boosts Cybersecurity with Cutting-Edge Initiatives

Goa Police is advancing public service delivery and addressing cybercrime challenges through innovative technology. Three initiatives, including an AI-ML Lab, a Quick Pass System, and the Cyber-Yoddha Programme, are set to enhance security and efficiency in the region.

In a bid to enhance public service delivery and confront the growing threat of cybercrimes, the Goa Police, under the leadership of DGP Alok Kumar, has unveiled three groundbreaking initiatives rooted in modern technology. The newly launched programs aim to blend advanced technological solutions with core policing activities.

The centerpiece of these initiatives is the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab, designed to revolutionize various aspects of policing. Complementing this are the Quick Pass System and the ambitious Cyber-Yoddha Programme, which particularly targets the escalating number of cybercrimes.

The Cyber-Yoddha Programme plays a crucial role in Goa's Cyber Surakshit Goem campaign, focusing on training volunteers across diverse sectors, such as students and senior citizens, to serve as cyber awareness ambassadors. Meanwhile, the Quick Pass Mobile Application enhances traffic regulation by allowing drivers to generate a QR code for compliance proof, thereby streamlining law enforcement processes. Furthermore, to better tackle cybercrime, Goa Police has revamped the 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline, amplifying accountability and ensuring rapid response through a 24x7 operational team.
