Goods Train Derails in Odisha's Titilagarh Yard: Quick Response Ensures Swift Recovery

In a late Friday night incident, three wagons of a goods train derailed at the Titilagarh yard in Odisha, causing a temporary disruption to rail services. The train, bound for Raipur, was carrying red mud destined for a cement plant when the mishap occurred.

Thankfully, there have been no casualties linked to the derailment, as confirmed by officials. Responding swiftly, East Coast Railways personnel, accompanied by the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sambalpur, arrived at the scene to oversee recovery operations and probe the cause of the derailment.

According to Sambalpur DRM Tusharkanta Pandey, the wagons derailed while departing from Line 8, yet the main line traffic was promptly restored. Efforts are ongoing to clear the Down line. Meanwhile, staff from the Accident Relief Train are actively engaged in clearing the tracks to resume normal operations.
