In a significant move towards sustainable energy, NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) has partnered with Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company (MPPGCL) to develop renewable energy projects totaling up to 20 GW in the state. The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed at the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal.
The joint initiative aims to fulfill the renewable generation obligations of MPPGCL and the renewable purchase obligations of the state's distribution companies. The projects will encompass solar, wind, and hybrid energy solutions, potentially integrating storage options to maximize efficiency and output.
This strategic alliance emphasizes the commitment of both parties to assist India's broader agenda of energy transition. The presence of state Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the signing underscores the political and economic significance of this renewable energy endeavor in Madhya Pradesh.
