Home-grown consumer electronics brand, Micromax Informatics, made a significant announcement on Wednesday, marking its expansion into the renewable energy sector with the launch of Startup Energy. This new venture aims to transform solar panel manufacturing across India, furthering the adoption of sustainable energy practices as part of India's clean energy mission, according to a company statement.
Micromax intends to produce high-efficiency solar panels catering to residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Their focus is on providing scalable and affordable solar power solutions nationwide. 'We aim to make clean energy more accessible, reliable, and cost-effective, benefiting both individuals and businesses,' stated Rajesh Agarwal, Managing Director of Micromax Informatics.
As part of this expansion, Micromax has secured a strategic partnership with China-based Jinchen for a phased deployment of a 5GW advanced solar module manufacturing line. This project, executed in phases, will incorporate automation and high-efficiency technologies. Startup Energy plans to establish a cutting-edge manufacturing facility and explore strategic R&D partnerships to develop next-generation solar solutions focusing on enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability for the long term.
