In a scathing critique of the Devendra Fadnavis-led administration, the Maharashtra Assembly's Leader of Opposition, Vijay Wadettiwar, has lambasted the government following the alleged rape of a 26-year-old woman on a bus at Pune's Swargate depot.
Wadettiwar has expressed outrage at the incident, describing it as a blight on Maharashtra's safety record. He remarked that the public's confidence in law enforcement has been severely compromised. "There is no law and order left in Maharashtra," stated Wadettiwar, urging Chief Minister Fadnavis to urgently prioritize citizen safety.
Pune's police have intensified their efforts to capture the fugitive suspect, Dattatray Ramdas Gade, offering a Rs one lakh reward for information leading to his arrest. Thirteen teams, including eight from the Crime Branch, are actively pursuing leads, expanding their search beyond district boundaries.
