In the early hours of Monday, a fatal collision between a passenger vehicle and a truck claimed eight lives and left several injured in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav shared the tragic news on social media, confirming the incident near Upni village at around 2:30 am.

Authorities swiftly arrived at the scene, transporting the injured to local hospitals for treatment. Expressing his condolences, CM Yadav declared financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each for the deceased's families, Rs 1 lakh for the severely injured, and Rs 50,000 for those with minor injuries.

The unfortunate incident involved an SUV en route to Maihar for prayer, which collided with a truck. Senior officials coordinated efforts to ensure prompt medical care for the victims. CM Yadav urged drivers to exercise caution, and prayed for strength for the bereaved families and the speedy recovery of the injured.
