In a dramatic turn of events, Tarn Taran police have successfully apprehended Shehnaz Singh, alias Shawn Bhinder, an international drug lord of Indian origin, wanted by the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The arrest marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing anti-drugs campaign 'Yudh Nashian Virudh'.

Shawn Bhinder, a native of Mandiala village in Batala and residing in Brampton, Canada, was linked to an extensive drug bust by the FBI on February 26, 2025. The operation culminated in the arrest of six accomplices and the seizure of large quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and weapons in the US, highlighting his central role in a global drug network.

Despite initial evasion of FBI capture, Bhinder was tracked down in Ludhiana by Punjab Police. Authorities revealed his involvement in transporting sizable drug consignments from Colombia to North America, using guise of a legitimate business. Preliminary probes indicate connections to high-profile traffickers, as investigations continue to unravel the syndicate's vast network.
