The Ministry of Home Affairs has banned the Jammu and Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM) and Awami Action Committee (AAC), citing their involvement in activities that jeopardize national integrity and security.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah underscored the government's commitment to tackling threats against the country, stating that any entity involved in disrupting national peace will encounter a severe government response.

The ministry alleges that these organizations, under leaders Umar Farooq and Masroor Abbas Ansari, have engaged in activities promoting terrorism and separatism, mobilizing funds for illegal operations in the region.
