Empowering Women: A Green Future for Karbi Anglong

Aaranyak, alongside the Centre for Karbi Studies and HLTEC, marked International Women's Day 2025 with a panel discussion in Assam's Karbi Anglong. The event, attended by 55 participants, highlighted women's roles in biodiversity conservation, entrepreneurship, and overcoming 21st-century challenges, emphasizing sustainable development and women's rights.

Aaranyak, a leading conservation organization, partnered with the Centre for Karbi Studies and the Holistic Life Transforming & Empowering Society to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 at Yellow Tree Café in Diphu, Assam. Fifty-five participants, representing various educational and professional backgrounds, gathered to emphasize women's crucial roles in nature conservation and resource management.

The discussion touched on four essential topics. Dr. Bandita Teronpi from Lumding College highlighted the traditional roles of Karbi women in biodiversity conservation. Serlin Beypi from the Assam Forest Department addressed balancing tradition and sustainability in forest conservation and climate change mitigation.

Entrepreneurs Charisma Rongpipi and Serleen Engti Katharpi explored women's empowerment and the broader societal impacts of female entrepreneurship. Community leader Jirleen Rongpipi emphasized the importance of legal frameworks for women's safety and overcoming challenges like early marriage. Moderated by Sabin Rongpipi, the sessions sparked engaging exchanges and forward-thinking for women's empowerment in Karbi Anglong.
