Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, Rabri Devi, spearheaded a protest outside the Bihar Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday. The protests called for a 65% reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the state.
The demonstrators vocally criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, labeling him an "Aarakshan Chor" in their slogans as they pressed their demands. Rabri Devi justified the protest by citing the need for the cabinet-passed reservation to be included in the Scheduled Castes list.
Compounding the political tension were posters displayed outside Rabri Devi's residence, targeting Nitish Kumar's position on the Waqf Amendment bill and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Messages on these posters accused Kumar of betrayal and threatened withdrawal of voter support.
Further controversy arose from additional posters linked to the National Anthem controversy, accusing Kumar of disrespecting women, Mahatma Gandhi, and the national anthem. The backlash followed a video purportedly showing the CM gesturing while the anthem played in Patna.
