In a significant development, the Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested six individuals implicated in the murder of BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav, allegedly stemming from political rivalry. Official sources on Monday confirmed that Yadav succumbed to injuries from an injection attack and was declared dead at Aligarh Medical College.
Superintendent of Police KK Bishnoi provided details, asserting that the attack appeared to be politically motivated. The method of attack was chosen to evade identification of the assailants, he claimed. While Yadav was assaulted in a remote village, he was urgently transported to medical facilities but tragically passed away.
In a related incident, police detained Jama Masjid Sadar and Shahi Mosque Committee Chief Zafar Ali in connection with violence linked to a court-mandated mosque survey. Ali's lawyer, Vinod Kumar Singh, contended that Ali was not present at the time of the altercation and that the bail, initially denied by the magistrate, will be contested in a higher court.
