Security Forces Intensify Crackdown in Jammu and Kashmir

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Hiranagar have intensified their search operations, deploying drones over three days, following terrorist threats. The police have conducted raids across Kupwara, seizing materials linked to banned separatist groups to uphold public safety and national security under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Security forces in the Saniyal area of Jammu and Kashmir's Hiranagar persisted with their intensive search operations for the third day by Wednesday. The deployment of drones underscores the urgency and seriousness of their mission.

After receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists, a coordinated operation between the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Rising Star Corps was initiated on Sunday night. As part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal separatist activities, Kupwara Police executed multiple raids in collaboration with other forces across the district on Tuesday. Their targets included individuals linked with banned groups like Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Muslim League, and the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party.

Raids carried out in the early hours targeted locations in Kralpora, Khurhama, and other strategic spots within Kupwara, including Trussu Dragmulla. Senior police officials directed the operations aimed at individuals suspected of maintaining associations with groups posing threats to the region's peace and security. Law enforcement successfully seized incriminating materials, which are now part of investigations falling under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The actions were conducted with legal oversight, including the presence of Magistrates, ensuring transparency and adherence to protocol.

Kupwara Police continue their determined efforts to dismantle illegal networks that attempt to destabilize the region. Similar efforts are underway in Kulgam, targeting the premises of suspected unlawful group members.
