In a crucial meeting, Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma engaged with officials from the Delhi Jal Board and assembly MLAs to strategize against the impending summer water crisis. The primary focus was the designation of nodal officers within each department to ensure effective coordination between MLAs and officers, tackling water issues head-on.
Highlighting the government's proactive measures, Verma explained that numerous water tankers will be deployed to prevent scarcity as temperatures rise. He lamented the current state of Delhi's water system while assuring that structural enhancements are underway to equally distribute water and avert the annual crisis. 'Our priority is to halt the recurring water crisis,' Verma stressed, emphasizing the need for rigorous improvements.
In tandem with the summer action plan, the Delhi Government is vigilant about potential waterlogging issues during the monsoon. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, alongside Minister Verma and LG Vinai Kumar Saxena, inspected key drains such as Barapullah and Kushak, enforcing timely completion of desilting tasks to bolster monsoon preparedness.
