Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Saturday strongly opposed the Waqf Amendment Bill, anticipated to be introduced in the current legislative session. He asserted that any law that potentially divides society should be opposed, and accused the BJP of pushing for the Bill at the expense of JD(U).
Kishor emphasized that if JD(U)'s 12 MPs do not oppose the Waqf Board, the party, along with its leader Nitish Kumar, will suffer greatly. Drawing a parallel, he stated, 'As Congress once relegated Bihar to Lalu Yadav, the BJP has now ceded it to Nitish Kumar.'
Additionally, Kishor questioned the overlooked topic of Nitish Kumar's health, criticizing the lack of transparency despite the Chief Minister's pivotal role over 12 crore people. Raising concerns about Kumar's mental state, Kishor remarked on the Chief Minister's inability to remember significant details.
On March 23, Kishor was outspoken about Kumar's governance, suggesting his resignation due to alleged physical and mental inefficiencies. Addressing the media, Kishor said Kumar's deterioration was first noted by ally Sushil Kumar Modi, leading Bihar Ministers to raise concerns. Kishor emphasized that these issues were not addressed until observed during state protests.
Kishor called for Kumar's resignation, suggesting the BJP shares responsibility for ignoring his condition. Kishor boldly stated that if Prime Ministers or Home Ministers were aware of such mental unfitness, accountability lies with them too.
