The Pakistan Army's artillery shelling has resulted in significant destruction in civilian areas of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, leaving 12 dead and damaging local religious sites. A shell struck the Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara and another targeted Geeta Bhawan and a mosque, claiming lives and triggering widespread panic.

Local leader Narinder Singh, reflecting the community's distress, criticized Pakistan's attack on civilians and urged government intervention to restore peace. Shiromani Akali Dal's Sukhbir Singh Badal condemned the attacks and pledged solidarity with the victims' families, highlighting the loss of three Sikh community members and demanding compensation.

Reacting to escalating tensions, India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Indian Armed Forces' precise and cautious response during Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure without harming civilians. This comes after a brutal attack in Pahalgam that took 26 lives, prompting swift military action designed to prevent further terrorist plots.
