At the 55th annual Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2025, India's strategic initiatives in the offshore energy sector took the spotlight. The nation underscored its rich geoscientific data and regulatory framework, designed to appeal to international energy players.
With over 30,000 professionals from 107 countries in attendance, the conference highlighted India's ambition to lead in global offshore exploration and production (E&P). Keynote speakers, including Pallavi Jain Govil, Director General of DGH, emphasized India’s role as a burgeoning investment hub.
Honoring Agility in Offshore Engineering, Sridhar Krishnamoorthy of IIT Madras became the first Indian academic to receive the OTC Emerging Leader Award. Meanwhile, Indian officials highlighted areas for collaboration, particularly with U.S. counterparts, and showcased the latest regulatory and technological advancements.
