Gujarat Bans Firecrackers and Drones Amid Security Alerts

The Gujarat government has banned firecrackers and drones at all events statewide until May 15, following heightened security concerns. In a decisive move to bolster security, the Gujarat government has imposed a ban on the use of firecrackers and drones at events across the state until May 15. The announcement, made by Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi on social media platform X, urges public cooperation in adhering to the new guidelines.

This development comes in the wake of a detailed review of the nation's security concerns by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Defence in the national capital, involved top military officials following a thwarted large-scale drone attack by Pakistan. The Minister's review included discussions with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and other senior military leaders.

On the night of May 8-9, the Indian Army successfully countered Pakistani drone incursions along the western border and the Line of Control. This hostility follows Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory strike by Indian forces on terror infrastructures in the region. Defence sources highlight the critical role of the Akash missile system in defending against these attacks, showcasing India's capability to protect its territorial integrity.
