A massive landslide has disrupted the Yamunotri Yatra route in Jankichatti, with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local authorities scrambling to conduct rescue operations. Under the leadership of SDRF Commander Arpan Yaduvanshi, helicopters equipped with drone cameras are performing aerial analyses to pinpoint critical areas.
In response to the disaster, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his deep regret and guaranteed that comprehensive rescue efforts are being deployed by State Defence Response Force, police, forest department, and medical teams. These coordinated efforts are pivotal in managing the tragedy's aftermath.
The landslide, which occurred at Nau Kachi near the Bhairav temple, roughly 3 km from Janaki Chatti, prompted immediate action. CM Dhami conveyed his condolences via social media, confirming ongoing relief operations on-site. One injured individual has been evacuated and is receiving care at PHC Jankichatti.
