Tragedy at Puri Rath Yatra: Government Vows Preventive Measures
In the wake of the tragic stampede at Puri Rath Yatra, which resulted in three fatalities, BJP leader Biranchi Narayan Tripathy emphasized the state's commitment to preventing such incidents. Odisha's Chief Minister has initiated an inquiry, restructured local administration, and assured financial compensation to victims' families.

In a response to the tragic Puri Rath Yatra stampede that led to the deaths of three people, BJP leader Biranchi Narayan Tripathy has voiced deep concern over the incident. The state government is actively pursuing strategies to prevent such distressing occurrences in the future, he told ANI.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has engaged with departmental ministers and officers to tackle this serious issue. Tripathy revealed that several officials have already been transferred, and two police officers have faced suspension. In a compensation effort, families of the deceased are being provided Rs 25 lakh each.
This follows the Chief Minister's order for a comprehensive administrative investigation, led by the Development Commissioner. Recent administrative changes include appointing Pinak Mishra as Superintendent of Police and replacing the district collector. The government promises accountability and measures to ensure the safety of festival attendees.
