An oil tanker carrying approximately 1 million barrels of crude oil experienced an explosion off the Libyan coast on June 27. Fortunately, no injuries or pollution were reported, according to TMS Tankers spokesperson.

The Marshall Islands-flagged vessel, named Vilamoura, had just departed from Libya's Zuetina port and was on its way to Gibraltar when the explosion occurred in the engine room, as per the operator's statement.

The ship is currently being towed to Greece, where it is expected to arrive by July 2.
