NTPC, the nation's largest power producer, announced the initiation of an empowerment programme tailored for underprivileged girls in Assam, aimed at nurturing essential skills. The month-long initiative, part of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), targets 40 minors and has been operational since 2018.

The current edition, taking place from July 1st to 30th, 2025, in Kokrajhar district, is the fourth installment at the Bongaigaon plant. GEM 2025 offers a comprehensive experience with structured learning, creative tasks, and attention to participants' holistic well-being.

Inaugurated by Kokrajhar District Commissioner Masanda M Pertin alongside NTPC Bongaigaon Project Head Arnab Maitra, the programme underscores the role of empowering young girls to foster resilient communities. NTPC continues to champion education and gender equality through initiatives like GEM, marking its commitment to community development.
