In a significant move towards reforming traditional practices, the Kashi Vidwat Parishad has unveiled a detailed Hindu Code of Conduct. The 400-page document, constructed after consultations with eminent scholars and spiritual leaders, aims to address societal behaviors deemed outdated or burdensome.

The code proposes a ban on dowries, limits on wedding expenditures, and encourages daytime Vedic ceremonies. It notably simplifies the reconversion process to Hinduism, allowing individuals to return to their faith with their original identity intact. Restrictions on pre-wedding shoots and engagement ceremonies, as well as a minimal 13-person funeral feast, are also included.

Significantly, temple sanctum access will be restricted to priests, retaining sacred spaces' sanctity. Developed by 70 scholars from various regions, the code draws extensively from ancient texts. Slated for a 2025 release, over five lakh copies will be distributed following approval from esteemed religious figures.
