In a tragic incident at the Awsaneshwar Mahadev temple in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district, an electric wire incident led to two deaths and injured over 30 people early Monday morning. Devotees, gathered during the holy month of Sawan, were caught in a stampede-like situation after contact with the live wire.

The Uttar Pradesh government promptly responded by ordering a high-level inquiry into the incident. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak confirmed that the District Magistrate has been tasked with submitting a detailed report within 24 hours to prevent future occurrences. He emphasized that other necessary measures will be implemented to ensure safety at places of worship.

Expressing deep sorrow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased. His directive included ensuring proper medical treatment for the injured and swiftly conducting relief operations. Pathak assured that the government extends full support to the affected families, combining financial aid with efforts to alleviate their distress.
