In an important meeting, Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss vital state issues. The Governor detailed recent developments, including the consequences of severe natural disasters and the progress of the 'Drug-Free Himachal' initiative.

Governor Shukla expressed grave concerns about the widespread damage from cloudbursts and landslides in Mandi district during the monsoon. These events have tragically resulted in significant loss of life and destruction of property, displacing families and damaging agricultural lands. Prime Minister Modi reassured the Governor, pledging India's full support to ensure affected areas receive the necessary relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Additionally, the Governor briefed Modi on the aggressive anti-drug campaign reaching every panchayat in the state. He highlighted successful efforts to raise awareness and foster community involvement, aiming to transform Himachal Pradesh into a drug-free region. A notable feature was the recently concluded three-day national conference in Kashi, pivotal in advocating a comprehensive approach to combating substance abuse, underlined by the 'Kashi Declaration,' which demands coordinated efforts across government and society.
