The body of a 15-year-old girl from Odisha's Puri, who tragically succumbed to burn injuries, was transported back to her home state on Sunday night, police confirmed. The somber arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport was secured with tight precautions, as authorities ensured a respectful return to her native Balanga in Puri district.
In attendance at the airport, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling offered condolences to the bereaved father, laying floral tributes to honor the young girl. The poignant scene underscored the grief that has permeated the community following her untimely passing.
The girl's remains were flown from New Delhi on a service flight, following an earlier post-mortem examination at AIIMS. Her death on Saturday marked the end of a painful battle, casting a spotlight on the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
