The third National Lok Adalat of 2025 is slated for September 13 in the district of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, commonly known as Mohali, as announced by District and Sessions Judge Atul Kasana. The program aims to facilitate amicable dispute resolutions, ease judicial workloads, and promote speedy access to justice, according to an official press statement.
Dedicated benches will operate at the District Courts in Mohali, as well as at Sub-Divisional Courts in Kharar and Derabassi, tackling a diverse array of cases. These include Land Acquisition Executions, MACT Claim Petitions, and matters related to the Electricity Act, among others. The focus is on efficiently and amicably resolving issues ranging from cheque bounce cases to family disputes.
Judge Kasana emphasized the Lok Adalats' potential for peacefully settling both pending and pre-litigative matters without court fees. Cases mutually resolved in the Lok Adalat will see a full refund of court fees. Encouraging wide participation, the judge appealed to litigants to utilize this opportunity for effective dispute resolution. Legal institutions are urged to spread awareness about the benefits of this alternative dispute resolution mechanism, part of a nationwide effort to ensure faster and less adversarial justice.
