The Bhog and Antim Ardas of the Akhand Path took place on Friday at Gurdwara Sri Tahli Sahib, Galhri, in memory of Indian Army soldier Daljeet Singh, who recently died in a Ladakh accident. Punjab's Minister Mohinder Bhagat attended, offering tributes on behalf of the Punjab Government, highlighting Singh's bravery and announcing a Rs 1 crore ex-gratia grant for the family.
Minister Bhagat, representing Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, praised Daljeet Singh for his heroic service in Ladakh's challenging terrain. He assured the bereaved family of the Punjab Government's support, stating that Singh's sacrifice for the nation is held in high regard.
Further, Minister Bhagat revealed additional honors: a government job for Shaheed Daljeet Singh's brother, renaming of the village school, and constructing a memorial gate. The minister emphasized the state's dedication to martyr families, labeling them as national treasures. The event also saw officials like Raman Behl and Shamsher Singh honor the fallen hero's legacy.
