Himachal's Theog Leads in Cleanliness, Aims for Drug-Free Future

Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has called on the citizens of Theog to spearhead efforts against drug abuse, drawing inspiration from the town's achievement as the cleanest in the state. Speaking at Theog Day celebrations, the Governor reiterated his support for the 'Nasha Mukt' vision, pledging involvement in even the smallest drug-prevention initiatives.
During the event, a specially composed anti-drug song by Shyam was unveiled, and community heroes were acknowledged for their societal contributions. The Governor praised Theog for dethroning Shimla and clinching top honors in the Swachh Survekshan 2025 for towns under 20,000 residents. He commended the town's substantial advancements in education, healthcare, agriculture, and tourism, lauding the area's youth for their patriotic zeal.
Shukla, paying homage to Theog's rich cultural legacy and historical milestones, urged citizens to engage actively in the nation's progress, emphasizing Swadeshi products. Highlighting India's strategic achievements like the BrahMos missile, he underscored the significance of indigenous developments in national diplomacy.
MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore, in welcoming the Governor, recounted the historical Praja Mandal movement's role in empowering people and initiating Theog Day. The event featured a cultural showcase, including the iconic Choltu Dance, reflecting the community's vibrant ethos. Key dignitaries, including Vice Chairman of the State Forest Corporation Kehar Singh Khachi, and other officials, were present, underscoring the event's importance.
