Acting on an alert from Meta, Uttar Pradesh police successfully rescued a 20-year-old man who had threatened suicide on Instagram, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

On August 18, Ved Kumar Pal, from Audhan village, posted a video with a poison bottle, captioned in Hindi about ending his life that night. Meta flagged the post and shared relevant details with the Uttar Pradesh Police, leading to a quick intervention by local authorities.

A police team reached Pal's residence promptly, preventing a potential tragedy. During counselling, Pal admitted the post was not meant seriously and pledged in writing not to engage in such behavior again. His family expressed gratitude for the police's timely action.
