The Jammu division has announced the closure of all schools on August 26 due to adverse weather conditions. This directive applies to both government and private institutions, as confirmed by an official order from the Directorate of School Education.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh convened a strategic meeting with state officials at Raj Bhavan in Jammu to assess the flood situation plaguing parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Notable attendees included J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh.
Singh also visited a hospital to meet victims of the recent Kishtwar cloudburst, which coincided with the Machail Mata Yatra and claimed over 60 lives. Praising medical staff for their service, Singh noted that all patients were now recovering well.
