The Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has released a comprehensive report on the devastating impact of the 2025 monsoon season. As of September 17, 2025, the report confirms 419 total deaths, categorized into 237 rain-related and 182 road accident fatalities.

A breakdown of rain-related incidents reveals landslides as the leading cause with 52 deaths, followed by falls, drownings, cloudbursts, and flash floods. Additionally, the monsoon has inflicted significant damage on public and private property, amounting to a loss of Rs 4,59,536.54 Lakhs, affecting key infrastructure sectors and housing.

Despite ongoing rescue operations titled 'Operation Hausal', two individuals remain missing following flash floods in Dharampur. Efforts are underway by the Himachal police and SDRF to ensure public safety. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in a high-level meeting, expressed concern over the recent casualties and urged immediate measures for the well-being of affected residents.
