Sudan's Ethnic Violence Crisis: A Rising Toll

Sudan has witnessed a sharp increase in civilian casualties amid escalating ethnic violence, according to a UN human rights report. Between January and June, at least 3,384 civilians died, most of them in Darfur. UN officials emphasize receiving daily updates of atrocities from the region.

In the first six months of this year, Sudan has seen a troubling rise in civilian deaths due to increasing ethnic violence, the UN human rights office has reported.

Li Fung from OHCHR Sudan highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that reports of atrocities continue to flood in daily.

A recent report by the Office for the High Commissioner of Human Rights reveals at least 3,384 civilian fatalities, predominantly occurring in the Darfur region.
