Russian missile and drone assaults on Ukraine claimed six lives, including two children, and caused nationwide power disruptions, officials reported on Wednesday. A proposed summit between Russian and U.S. leaders was canceled, following Moscow's refusal of a ceasefire agreement.
Debris from downed weapons littered the Ukrainian capital, igniting fires across half of its districts, according to Kyiv's military administration head, Timur Tkachenko. Officials noted that Russian attacks persisted through the night into Wednesday morning, initially with ballistic missiles followed by drone strikes.
In addition to the fatal impacts in Kyiv, significant energy infrastructure damage was reported, leading to emergency power outages. Ukraine's Energy Minister confirmed relentless strikes on energy facilities, reiterating Russia's continued aggression as winter approaches, aiming to compromise Ukraine's energy system.
