A major fire outbreak in Bhubaneswar's Unit-1 vegetable market has resulted in the destruction of approximately 20 shops, authorities reported on Thursday. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation's Mayor, Sulochana Das, revealed that eight fire engines were dispatched to the scene to bring the situation under control.

Thankfully, there were no casualties in the incident, though the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined. Mayor Das informed that, despite the blaze being under control, the plastics present in the market complicated firefighting efforts.

Local shopkeepers claim that the fire affected between 20 to 30 shops. The situation is now stable, but further updates are awaited as investigations proceed to ascertain the fire's root cause.
