The Ministry of Power credits this achievement to robust policy support, strategic investments, and coordinated efforts across the energy sector.

As of September 30, 2025, India has reached 500.89 GW, doubling its capacity since 2014. This progress demonstrates the country's commitment to a clean, secure, and self-reliant energy future, achieving a key COP26 target five years ahead of schedule.
