VOCPA Pioneers Green Energy with Landmark Agreements

The V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) unveiled on Friday a series of groundbreaking pacts with top-tier firms in the green energy sector, marking a cumulative investment exceeding Rs 1.27 lakh crore.
These agreements, including major projects with Green Infra Renewable Energy Farms and ACME Green Hydrogen, underscore VOCPA's commitment to becoming a future-ready green hydrogen hub in southern India. With an ambitious Rs 25,400 crore project with Green Infra and a Rs 12,000 crore initiative with ACME, the port is setting new benchmarks in sustainable energy.
VOCPA Chairman Susanta Kumar Purohit highlighted the port's strategic focus on green hydrogen, alternative fuels, and artificial intelligence integration. Thanks to substantial government support, these initiatives are part of a broader goal to establish India as a leader in eco-friendly maritime operations, as emphasized during India Maritime Week 2025.
