UPDATE 1-Power blackout briefly hits parts of Paris

(Adds RTE spokesperson) PARIS, Nov 20 (Reuters) -

A power blackout briefly hit parts of Paris on Thursday morning, which French grid operator RTE linked to a technical incident at its Issy-Les-Moulineaux electrical substation, southwest of the French capital. The exact origin of the incident remains unknown and investigations are underway, an RTE spokesperson said.

The outage, which also halted a few metro and suburban trains, initially left some 170,000 households without electricity from 0538 GMT. Power was quickly restored and by 0650 GMT only about 2,600 households still remained without electricity, RTE said.

French electricity supplier Enedis said earlier that it expected power to be fully restored by 0800 GMT.
