In a significant literary unveiling, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday launched the book "Uttarakhand State's New Political History" penned by veteran journalist Jai Singh Rawat. The event took place at the Chief Minister's residence, as per an official statement from the CM's office.

This comprehensive work by Rawat is lauded for its authentic documentation of Uttarakhand's political evolution, administrative developments, and the trajectory of its growth over 25 years since the state's formation. The book's publication was attended by numerous dignitaries, journalists, and lawmakers who commended Rawat's meticulous compilation.

The Chief Minister underscored the necessity of factual accuracy in historical writing. He praised Rawat's utilization of rare documents and press clippings to vividly present a politically unstable period post-statehood, a testament to the author's commitment to journalistic integrity.

Highlighting the irreplaceable value of books, despite the digital age's instant information access, CM Dhami urged the public to prioritize books over bouquets as gifts to foster reading habits and support authors.

Stressing on cultural preservation, the Chief Minister advocated for the promotion of regional languages such as Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari, especially among the youth. He detailed government efforts to honor contributions in local languages through educational competitions and initiatives aimed at content creation.
