A four-year-old nursery student in Telangana's Medchal-Malkajgiri district was allegedly assaulted by a school attendant, known locally as an ayah, on Monday. The incident, which was captured on video by residents and circulated on social media, has sparked a police investigation. Authorities have confirmed that the child is stable and receiving treatment in a private hospital, while the accused is in custody.

In a related development, a school attender in Karimnagar district was arrested under the POCSO Act in October for allegedly sexually assaulting minor female students. This revelation emerged following an inquiry by district officials, who verified the allegations. Evidence includes inappropriate conduct during school events, where the accused reportedly threatened to misuse images of students.

District authorities, including the Child and Women Welfare Officer, visited the school and confirmed the allegations, leading to a police report on October 27. An Assistant Commissioner is now handling the investigation, which resulted in the arrests and disciplinarian action against several school staff. The District Collector ordered immediate suspensions and transfers, citing the failure of the headmaster and teachers to report the incidents earlier.
