Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) announced on Monday its incorporation of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) guidance into its core sustainability strategy. This move underscores AGEL's commitment to fostering nature-positive renewable energy development.
The TNFD framework, a science-led initiative backed by the United Nations, provides a comprehensive structure for organizations to identify and manage nature-related risks and opportunities. By adopting this framework, AGEL reinforces its leadership among global renewable energy companies and supports global conservation efforts.
In line with its ambition to transition from standard Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance to a nature-positive model, AGEL has committed to achieving No Net Loss of Biodiversity by 2030. The company plans to plant nearly 28 million trees and expand its renewable energy portfolio, including developing the world's largest renewable energy plant in Gujarat.
