Sahaj Insurance Services Pvt Ltd, a part of the Kanoria Foundation and subsidiary of Sahaj Retail Ltd, is set to reshape insurance accessibility in rural India by selling 10 crore policies specifically adapted for these communities.

Having acquired a corporate agency licence from IRDAI, the company plans to leverage its extensive network of 4.5 lakh digitally-enabled rural centers to reach over 70 crore people. The aim is to demystify insurance for rural populations often sidelined by low awareness and accessibility.

CEO Biswajit Chatterjee highlights the importance of features such as assisted digital enrolment, paperless transactions, and multilingual support, which will be integrated with government-backed schemes to strengthen financial inclusion. The focus remains on offering life, health, accident, crop, livestock, and micro-insurance products, developed with leading insurers for households within agrarian and informal economies, particularly in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, North East, and Odisha.
