He emphasized the urgent need for Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi to address the matter, accusing the district administration of inaction amidst burgeoning religious strife and ethnic violence.
The gruesome discovery has sparked violent clashes between two communities in Malkangiri, compelling the Odisha government to extend an 18-hour social media ban in the district. According to the Home Department, the decision aims to curb the spread of 'false, provocative, and inflammatory messages' on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and X, which threaten public order.
Following the escalation of violence, damaging 163 homes, security forces have been deployed to restore calm. The Malkangiri Collector has reported progress in peace negotiations between the communities, expressing optimism for a return to normalcy. The state government has announced compensation for the victim's family, while scientific teams intensify search efforts for crucial evidence at the crime scene.
