Tata Power announced on Thursday that it has secured a significant letter of intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd for the acquisition of Jejuri Hinjewadi Power Transmission Ltd, a specialized project vehicle.

This project, set to operate on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer model, will see Tata Power handling transmission services over a 35-year period beginning 24 months post the transfer of the SPV. The project encompasses the construction of a roughly 115 km, 400 kV double-circuit line between Jejuri and Hinjewadi, alongside 400 kV GIS line bay extensions at substations.

The scheduled commencement of commercial operations is marked for 24 months from the effective transfer date, and the company forecasts annual transmission charges to be around Rs 155.78 crore throughout the 35-year agreement period.
