The Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) has launched aggressive revenue recovery and vigilance campaigns in response to escalating dues and persistent financial challenges faced by power distribution companies in Rajasthan. An official reported that this initiative is crucial for the sustainability of the state's power supply.
Rajasthan's power distribution is managed by three government-owned discoms. JVVNL alone serves 56.5 lakh of the total 1.66 crore consumers in both urban and rural areas. For years, these companies have battled high technical and commercial losses, power theft, and delayed bill payments that pressure their financial health.
To combat this, JVVNL has identified ten power divisions with the highest dues and outlined an action plan for complete debt recovery. Arti Dogra, the discom's chairperson, announced that rigorous monitoring and enforcement actions, including potential legal measures against defaulters, will be implemented to boost revenue and cut losses.
