The East Vinod Nagar Metro Station, a prominent stop on Delhi Metro's Pink Line, has emerged as the 'Best Performing Unit' in the metro stations category at the National Energy Conservation Awards 2025. The award ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan, presented by President Droupadi Murmu.
According to a statement from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Managing Director Vikas Kumar accepted the accolade which was conferred by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power. The station was selected from numerous applications from metro rail systems nationwide.
The station's recognition stems from its remarkable reduction in electricity consumption and enhanced energy performance, achieved through strategic conservation measures such as replacing conventional tube lights with energy-efficient LEDs and installing a 150 kWp rooftop solar plant.
