Indian and Pakistani armies on Monday traded fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. Defence Ministry sources said the firing exchanges started around 10.30 a.m. after the Pakistanis resorted to unprovoked firing targeting Indian positions.
"Our troops retaliated strongly and effectively after the Pakistan Army used small arms and automatics to target Indian positions in Kerni and some other sectors," an official said. "Intermittent firing exchanges were going on between the two sides," the official said.
