India's 77th Republic Day celebrations unfolded on Monday with a remarkable showcase of cultural diversity, military prowess, and fervent patriotism along Delhi's Kartavya Path. The main event, attended by dignitaries including EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, featured a special European Union contingent displaying the EU's flags alongside India's.

As part of the dynamic military parade, President Droupadi Murmu honored Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla with the Ashoka Chakra for his exemplary courage. The day's events began with a solemn tribute at the National War Memorial led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The parade, reflecting the theme 'Unity in Diversity,' featured traditional performances and an impressive military demonstration.

New combat technologies, including India's indigenous ARMOU, DHRUV and RUDRA helicopters, and advanced light strike vehicles were spotlighted. The parade also highlighted the Army's cutting-edge drone and missile systems, emphasizing the nation's move toward defense self-reliance with exhibits like the BRAHMOS and Dhanush Gun System. Simultaneously, cultural tableaux depicted the rich history and vibrant ethos of India's states and ministries.
